Monitoring of Venturia inaequalis virulences

Current status of the project

In winter 2007/8 budwood of all 16 differential hosts has been collected and/or requested to different institutes. Then the “true-to-typeness” of the 16 accessions has been verified molecularly. These tests confirmed that “true-to-type” plant material is available at Agroscope for all the 16 differential hosts.
In the last 15 years (2009 to 2023) 28 partners in 15 countries deliver data (see results). 13 partners in additional 12 countries are establishing the differential orchards, while 8 more partners in further 5 countries declared their interest in joining the initiative (see current members of the initiative).
